App Icon Notification Number Won't Go Away (LG G5)

[AC Question]

I have the LG G5 Android phone, and the icons for apps on my homepage get a notification number beside them that won't go away even after I open the app and clear the notification. Notifications are supposed to be blocked anyway. I have tried factory resetting my phone, reinstalling the apps, and force stopping the apps. Nothing is working. Please help.

I'm getting the same problem. I've had it for a while but I decided to ignore it but its starting to get really annoying as when ever I download apps they may or may not have a a number there and it is really annoying

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Apps, tap Menu>Show System, and look for something like BadgeProvider. Clear Cache/Data from that app. Then see if the notification badges go away.
