Hi! I need help with my android phone, it's about the screen, half of it wont work.

So this is what happened, half of my phone screen wont work, but the other half works just fine. i tried restarting it but still gets the same thing. i want to try and shutdown my phone but it is locked so i cant open it to manually power off my phone. but i notice something there is a gesture which is i use in my phone, the gesture is that when my phone is off and i swipe the upper part of my phone it will drag down the notif bar, and it happens that whenever i tried swiping down my phone it will open and the notif bar is dragged down. but when i try swiping down when my phone is on it wont work still. guys i need help, pls help me fix this. i mean i can go through life even without my phone but i need it for my work. pls help me, thanks very much for the help.
