Problems deleting email

When I am going through my email I am noticing many items I delete come right back on the screen and look like unopened email.
This seems to happen most in my AOL mailbox. It also happens when I use the slide to the left for delete. Some times it can take 3 trust before it finally goes to the trash.

Sounds like the GMail app and an IMAP account, so deleting just deletes the email from the phone, then it reloads from the server. Look in settings for something like "delete from server" and check it. Then, when you delete an email, it gets deleted from the server as well.
