Why is my battery life suddenly dropping to zero?

This problem just started on my galaxy s7 (had it 8 months) where it will go from the battery percentage in the 20s down to zero and turn off, with no warning. It has done this twice in one day. Is this a faulty battery issue? It is summer and I have a thicker otterbox case, so I am unsure if overheating is a factor, but overheating shouldn't cause it to lose >20% of the battery in an instant. I do not use any 3rd party cleaner or battery life helper apps.

I just had this happen to me two nights in a row. Out of nowhere. No new apps. From around 35% to 0% instantly.

Check out the screenshot. Any solution to this? About a 2 year old s7 edge.

Get a new battery.
