Android Central Question
I have a Moto G (3rd Gen) with Android 6.0. I recently discovered that left page of my home screen that appeared after the latest Google update. I have since uninstalled that update as I did not want a 2nd home screen page and hate Google's insistence on forcing everything they dram up down your throat.
I have been trying to turn off the OK Google voice feature from my home screen...like most privacy buffs, it just irks me that my phone is always listening for me to say those words.
I've Googled the question and every answer I find says to simply open the google app, go to settings, voice, OK Google Detection and click that to turn it on or off....that 'button' is disabled on my phone. Other sites recommend using the Google Assistant or Google Now, but I don't seem to have either of those on this phone.
Can anybody explain to me how to get access to the on/off toggle of that thing when the button in settings is greyed-out and won't let me in???? This is VERY frustrating. I've already spent 2 hours reading forum after forum and all the answers tell me to do something my phone refuses to allow me to do!
