Keep display off unless pressing lock button

[Android Central Question]

Is there a way to keep the display off unless I press the lock button? My infant loves to grab my S8+ and the screen always turns on when the phone is picked up. It's locked, but sometimes he'll pause shows on Hulu when we're watching TV and I don't want my phone to Factory Reset if he enters numbers in the pin. Thanks!

Not sure about the rest, but for the factory reset thing, you can go to settings>lockscreen and security>secure lock settings>turn off auto factory reset.

At least that will prevent it while we still don't have a proper answer to your question.
