how do i reset my pattern lock in private mode?

I used my Private mode and hide some photos but i cannot open it anymore because i forgot the pattern lock that i did. I updated my software to Nougat and the option for pin code when you try 5 times is not appearing anymore since my nougat update. Can someone help me open my private mode again please? : (

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? On most phones that have a private mode, if you forget the password, you have to factory reset the phone to reset the password.
