Why am I getting text messages that arent sent to me?

I keep getting text messages that arent sent to me. Its conversations that people are having with each other and im seeing all of it. Two of the people are listed in my contacts. I dont understand why i would be getting these texts that they are sending to each other, not me.

Sounds like there was a group text conversation that once contained you and now they are using that conversation instead of starting a new conversation without you.

To verify this, I would get an SMS backup program, export the conversation to XML or other text format, and see if your phone number is included in the participants list.
