Welcome to Android Central! Does the phone get stuck on the Samsung logo, or does it not respond at all when you try to power on? If the latter, have you already tried a new battery?

Retrieving data from a dead phone is difficult -- you'd have to bring it to a data recovery specialist, which would likely be pretty expensive. How much of your data was being synced or backed up to your Google account?
