How to restore S6 contacts to an iPhone?

When I first got my Galaxy S6 I selected the 'google' option for backing up my contacts, photos, etc. Today I dropped my S6 in the water, and it seems dead. I moved my SIM to an iPhone 5 and added my gmail account under 'accounts'. All the sliders (mail, contacts, calendar) are 'on', but none of my contacts appear on this new phone. Fetch is 'on'. So that's frustrating.

Also on my PC I went into google drive and found a bunch of old photos I had deleted from my phone, but none of the recent ones I've taken! Doubly frustrating.

How to find my Samsung backup data and restore it into this iPhone??

If they are not on Google, then they have not been backed up. You probably turned off sync somewhere on the S6 for the data to not have been backed up.
