Samsung Galaxay J3 (16) won't sync with samsung account

Android Central Question

Under Samsung account I am getting 'sync error' and at bottom of screen 'sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly'.
After losing ALL info from my last phone, I am determined to have my info backed up safely.
Any ideas please?

As it said, it will be back shortly. Unfortunately, sometimes, "shortly" with Google can mean many days. (The server is sending your phone the error message because there's a problem on the server. If they knew what the problem was, it's usually a 5 minute fix, but finding what's causing it can take days.)
