Lg g6 SIM card tray faulty

[Android Central Question]

Hey guys, so I just got back from overseas a I wanted to put my normal sim back into my phone and the bottom part of the sim tray was bent where the SD card goes so I cut if off and just left the SIM card spot there. All my phone is saying now is “no sim” when I put the sim in, could this maybe be because the bottom part is not there it’s not placing in right? Any suggestions would be great thanks
