Android Central Question

Unexpectedly difficult issue while changing from Galaxy S5 to S8 phones. How to export web pages saved as home screen shortcuts but not bookmarked in Chrome? These are web links that I visited in Chrome, but didn't bookmark in Chrome, rather clicked the "Add to Home Screen" option. Since they aren't bookmarked, they aren't transferred along with my bookmarks or backed up by Chrome. They exist only as home screen shortcuts. I have about 75 of them all sorted into folders.

Anyone know where this data is? I'd like to export then move them all over including the folders. I'd settle for not having to retype all the URL's into the new phone.

Changing from S5 to S8 but also want to know how to backup once I do the same on the new phone.

Before changing phones, open the pages on the s5 and bookmark it. Use Samsungs auto set-up to get the s8 up and running. The store should help do this at purchase if requested.

The "data" is in the shortcut itself - it's a link to Chrome with the URL of the page as an argument. As Dano said, bookmark the pages in the old phone then use Chrome to sync them.
