What messaging app is the best for my new zte blade?

Want a messaging app that wont screw my phone up or give me viruses. Has to be secure and work well with my new device i do not like the app my phone came with

Are you looking for an instant messaging service or an app for sending text (SMS) messages? If it's the former, I recommend WhatsApp and Telegram. Some other alternatives are Viber and Facebook Messenger. If it's the latter, Android Messages is pretty great.

Just about any app you can find in Play. Most of them are free, so install one that sounds good (read the reviews - that gives you a good idea if the app just doesn't work right), if you don't like it uninstall it, then install the next one. You should fine one you like better than the stock one. (I'm still looking for an email app by doing that. I haven';t really liked any of them yet - I got too used to Samsung's native email app.)
