If my phone has curved 2.5d screen, does putting a normal screen protector will cause a side effect?

My phone is 2.5d screen so the tempered glass can only be placed in the screen and not the edge because of the curved design. So I just wanna switch to a normal, flexible protector that fits on the whole front. Does that still have a side effect like a white rim on the edge of the screen or not?

It will look bad, and lift at the edges. You will be forever trying to press it back down, and cursing the manufacturer for making an entirely unnecessary 2.5D glass, when flat glass is the obvious best way of doing it.
