Text message notification in lock screen

Has anyone seen the new text message notification in lock screen starting with a blue border and just flash the message on the screen without showing the lock screen? Is this new with new Message app?

Are you using a Samsung device with an 'edge'? That sounds a lot like Edge Lighting notifications.

Yes I am using the Samsung S9 with edge screen but I haven't setup the edge screen yet.

Yup, that's the Edge Lighting notification style then. It's on all Edge phones since the S7 I believe. Kinda buggy, though... But for calls and texting it's been pretty solid.

Thanks, Yes after I turned off the edge lighting notification, the text message pop up on the lock screen. I have another question. I have set up 2 GMAIL account and turned on the led notification, only 1 of my GMAIL account has the blue led indication when I received an email. Also when I set the importance to urgent to popup the messages on the lock screen for both accounts, they don't popup and only make the sound. They used to popup on my old S8. I checked all the settings in GMAIL accounts and they are correct. Any ideas why?
