My boyfriend has a flip phone Android and every time anybody calls him it rings after he picks it up

My boyfriend has this on his phone and every time anybody calls him after he picks the phone up and says hello the phone will ring and I can hear it but he can't is that due to that app

com.android.server.telecom is a system app that is related to making calls. Are you saying that when you call him and he answers, you can hear him say hello, but you also hear the dialing tone continuing in the background?
