Samsung S9 plus Google voice to text doesn't work consistently without closing apps, reseting phne

I have been able to get rid of Bixby, which was not the easiest thing in the world, but not too bad after I got some help from a forum. Now, Google voice to text works some of the time, but keeps stalling and not working at all and I have to reset my phone from time to time to get it to work again. I'm having to do this virtually every other time I go to use it. Sometimes I can close down apps and it works, even after closing down all apps it sometimes doesn't work and I have to reset the phone. My default keyboard is Samsung and I have no other options. I don't know if that's the problem but I can't turn that off if I have no other options, I can't turn it off regardless. I'm not sure if that's the problem just saying.
