Data doesn't work on my note 8 while on a voice call

I bought a unlocked brand new phone and I am using it with Tmobile and I found out that when I am on call phone data doesn't work. Can anybody help me in this?

Check with T-mobile.
If the phone supports that feature, many times the carrier will allow this type of advanced feature only on phones bought through them.
