How to change screen fade to black

[Android Central Question]

I have a lg158vl Android cell phone that fades to black if no activity after 8 seconds...then i have to dbl tap the screen to get it back...how can it set it to 3 minutes. And changeing the screen time does NOT do it.

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be sure -- you're talking about the screen timeout setting, and not the Automatically Lock setting, right? (The latter sets how long it takes between when the screen turns off and when the phone locks and requires the PIN or password again.)

Any power-saving modes turned on? How about 3rd party battery-saver apps?
