SuperSU doesn't work by itself, the phone has to be rooted. SuperSU just controls which apps can access what's called "the SuperSU binary", which is actually just a program named su. If su isn't in the phone (and you can't install it unless the phone is rooted, which is what you're trying to do so .... round and round and ...), installing SuperSU does nothing.
