How can I turn off wifi auto connect?

I have the lg fiesta 2 on straight talk network. My wife has the same phone too. We both get the ultimate unlimited plan and don't need wifi (data cap is 250 Gb per month). We use hotspot to provide internet to computers and devices at home. How can I stop my phone from auto connecting to my wife's hotspot or any public wifi that I don't need? (Public wifi is usually slower then my 4g network, ).

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Wi-fi, tap Menu>Advanced, and look for an option to automatically connect to open networks. Turn that toggle off.
