Android Central Question

So, I was just playing my daily games, previously I got the protection apps from Google to protect my phone. I am unsure if it is a virus or not but I don't want to seem like an ***** if I go to my phone providers asking about fixing it if it wasn't a virus.

Are you sure they're from Google (long-press them and you can get app info)? They could be "notices" from the virus and if you start clicking in things you'll install the virus.

If they are from Google, it should tell you what the viruses are.

I have not been clicking any of the notices from the visuses, next time i get one from it, i can reply to show you th enotifications i recived so you can see them as well. They have the google icon, but that could just be because It came from the crome app server, so i cant trust them in general. With the apps, when i siad from google i meant from google play store. Here are some screen shots of the apps. Screen Shot 2018-12-04 at 3.45.25 PM.pngScreen Shot 2018-12-04 at 3.45.25 PM.png
If the images dont show, you can take a look at what the aps are , There are from "Psafe on google play. I would greatly apriciat if you would let me know a little more or the subject.

Thank You!

When you say "regular notifications," do you mean notifications in the status bar?

It wasn't quite clear to me -- did you actually install those dfndr apps, or is something telling you to install them?

Well the notifications were in the status bar. With the app i dont really rememer how i installed them i kinda freaked out and just installed them, i do not remember if it was from the notifications themselves.(That may sound stupid but its the truth.) I am not sure if i clicked the notification and it took me to it, or if i found it. When i go to my search history it says nothing about security apps through google play, so im concerned about the apps. I deleted them after just a short while because i became paranoid.

I'd get rid of dfndr. It's not a well-known security app, and there are a lot of them out there that either do nothing, or possibly do some bad things. Here's my spiel on antivirus:

For the most part, it's still quite difficult to get an actual virus on your phone, because malware requires you to manually accept the installation (which is why they try to fool you into thinking you're installing something legitimate). Use common sense:

1. Avoid shady websites that deal with things like porn, gambling, and "free" (aka pirated) apps/music/movies.

2. Never ever tap on a link that appears in a popup while browsing, especially if they're warning you that your phone is infected -- they're just trying to scare you into installing some bogus "antivirus" app that is probably malicious itself.

3. Only install apps from well-established app sources like Google Play Store or Amazon Appstore. Read a bunch of app reviews before installing an app to look for any complaints about adware or suspected malware.

4. Turn on Google Play Protect features in Settings>Google>Security. This allows Google to periodically scan your phone's apps to look for malware.

5. Turn off "Unknown Sources" in Settings>Security. This prevents any app that wasn't obtained from Google Play Store from being installed (which could include malicious apps that are inadvertently downloaded).

Okay, thank you for the advice and guidence. I just fixed all of my settings, so it wont allow any suspiciouse aps and it will scan through for malware.. So with the notifications, am i able to post them on here as a reply to show you waht they look like and say . (Not as in if i clicked them, just in the stats bar), i also want to ask if you recomend anything else to protect my phone other than the settin. I would rather be safe than sorry. I dont know eveverything on this subject so i am still concerned about it.
