Android Central Question

I'd like to know why Android devices don't pull down authentication information from SSIDs like Windows or Apple can.

The key example is using WPA2-Enterprise SSIDs. With Windows/Apple, it is able to determine that is it using WPA2-Ent with TTLS and MSCHAP-V2 so all the end user has to do is put in their credentials, accept the certificate and they are on.

However on Android the end user is forced to manually put in this information when joining the WiFi, and against the stereotypes some Android users are not IT savvy and will have major issues with this part.

I'm just curious as to why this is a manual input for Android as opposed to automatic for everything else
