I like being able to open my cards within the assistant because it sandboxes the website to a degree. Also it is nice to be able to hit that little 'X' at the top of the screen and go back to my discover page and continue reading my feed where I left off, even if I've moved forward within the link to another page or two.. All of a sudden that setting, while still switched on, appears greyed out and when I click on a card I keep getting prompts to open it in chrome or one of the other browsers on my device.
Any thoughts on how I can get this back to working again?

Pixel 3XL w/Dec Security Update.
By 'Google Discover' I mean Google Now/Cards/Etc. Basically The feed you get when you swipe right on the home screen.that Google seems to rename everytime I blink.
