Help getting in phone

[Android Central Question]

I bought this phone new from walmart and my son friend was messing around on his phone and reset it. It keeps giving me the error message and wait 24 hours before trying to log back in. Its been 2 days now, and its giving me the same message. I put in the google account that was used and we changed the password. But waited 24 hours before trying it again. Can you please help me get in my son phone.

Welcome to Android Central! Simplly resetting the phone wouldn't suddenly changge the password. In order for your son's friend to have changed the password, he would have had to enter the existing password, then enter a new one, and then reenter it to confirm, so this kind of thing doesn't happen accidentally. If he did do this intentionally, then someone in a position of authority needs to talk some sense into him.

Where did you change the password -- are you talking about the main Google account password? Are you using 2 factor authentication?
