Pixel 2 XL bluetooth issue

Hi

I think I have an issue reported by users early last year but cannot find any new info on it.

I bought my phone as a refurbished but in pristine condition and was installed with Android 9.

Basically when I connect BT to my BT speaker it works fine but then after a while crackles or disconnects (even though it says it is still connected on the phone) or if I switch apps e.g. play, Amazon, YouTube etc. After a few switches it disconnects and starts playing through the phone speaker.

I have tried every fix I can find but to no avail, including...

-factory reset
-safe mode
-changing codecs settings
-changing other developed BT settings
-repairing etc

This also happens I think on my car when I flip between songs and a call.

I have gone through this all with Google and they want me to warranty replace it. But before I go through that wanted to check I hadn't missed something.

It seems mad that a flagship phone has such a basic issue!
 
Welcome to Android Central! You've already gone through all of the important troubleshooting steps. I'd suspect a problem with the Bluetooth radio. Regardless of the company, any flagship phone can have some lemons (even from vaunted Apple), so I'd go for the warranty replacement.
