Android Central Question

I Have a verizon galaxy note 5 but my service provider is through inland cellular (cdma). Ive had it for about a year now. I havent been able to update the software because my sim card isnt recognized. Yet somehow its recognised enough to have phone service. Other than that i Haven't had any other issues with it. Until the passed few days. My batt life is so out of whack ex: one minute it will say 90% charge then shut off by its self. Ill turn it on thrn it will say 2%. Rarely im able to get it to charge to 100%. Im at my wits end. Plz help

A Verizon Note 5 needs to connect to Verizons network to download an update over the air. You'll need to connect it to a PC and use Smart Switch to update the phone.

Do you know if Smart Switch will even work, since the OP isn't on Verizon? I thought I've seen before that Verizon phones that aren't on Verizon won't update regardless of using Smart Switch or any other means like Odin. Or maybe that was AT&T?
