Media volume controls audio volume

[Android Central Question]

I could swear that Media and Alarm volumes are supposed to be completely independent of each other. Alarm volume always overrides any other lower volume settings. I'm on Oreo 8.1



I'll go to bed playing audio from YouTube on my phone. Media volume set to about 20% and Alarm Volume set to 100%.



Alarm goes off and its at the same 20% volume as the Media volume is at.



Any ideas? Already did a factory reset and that didn't do anything

Go to Settings and turn off 'Use volume control for media' which overrode your alarm value.
