Blu vivoxl4 can't answer phone, does not show screen

[Android Central Question]

When my phone rings, if it's sleeping, nothing shows on screen. If I press the power button, it turns on but I still have no option to answer the call. I don't really understand the phone app options so didn't want to change anything. I've had the phone for several months and this is a new issue.

Welcome to Android Central! Can you confirm that it was an actual call you missed? Does the missed call show up in the call log?

I hear the phone, I just can't answer it. The call log tells me who called.

Does this also happen in Safe Mode? How to turn on safe mode on Blu Vivo XL

I tried safe mode and there is still no option to answer phone

I am able to make calls with no problems. I've just totally lost the ability to answer them. The screen didn't show up at all and if I go to the phone app I just see the call log.

If you're actively using another app and you get a call, do you get a notification at the top of the screen that you have an incoming call?

Are any power-saving modes turned on? Is the phone in a case?

I just finished reading reviews of the Google phone app. I now realize it's not my phone but the app itself that is having problems. I'm surprised at the amount of people that are having all the same problems I am having.
Not quite sure what I should do. Is there another app I should get, or just wait til they fix these problems?

Hmm, I wasn't aware of issues with the Phone app from Google. You can always try a 3rd party dialer app to see if that helps -- I've never tried one myself.

Thanks for all your time and help. I'm not very Tech-savvy so everything seems so difficult to me. I'll have to look into a new phone app. It was in the Play store that all these reviews have been posted. Emailed support but haven't heard anything yet.
