Android Central Question

So my phone, an LG X230 running Android 6.0, plays only the right channel audio. So any stereo audio that's supposed to come out of the left channel gets lost, and the right audio plays through both ears, in the case of a headphone. Basically takes the right channel audio and plays it as mono.
This is not a problem with my headphones, since the integrated speaker is also unable to play left-channel audio.
This problem also happens in safe mode, and across all applications.
What could possibly cause this? Software, hardware?

Play as mono should just mix both channels and play the mixture (which is now mono) through both channels. If it's really only playing the right channel through both channels, that either a software problem or a config file problem (one of the audio xml files, probably).

Couldn't find an answer to reply without making an account, but I'm OP.
Anway, as Rukbat clarified, it isn't a mono settings problem. As far as I could tell, this version of android doesn't have a built in mono option neither in audio nor accessibility.

Is there any way to easily fix a problem like this, or will I have to get nitty gritty and debug a bit?
