Android Central Question

I have a pixel 2 xl and my power button has been doing something really weird lately. Whenever I press the button, it activates twice. So if I try to press it, it turns the screen off and immediately back on. I know it's activating twice because it would activate the camera shortcut. Is there any way to add a minimum delay between button presses, so the phone would see two very close inputs as one press.

There is a "minimum time between presses'" function in there, because any mechanical switch "bounces" (that's actually the technical term for it), so you get a dozen or more "press-release cycles" when you press it, but the time is on the order of about a millisecond. If none of mustang's suggestions work, you probably have a bad power switch, and it has to be replaced. (That's one reason I use the fingerprint scanner to wake the phone and a rooted app to turn the screen off - hardware wears out, software doesn't. As long as the FPS doesn't quit on me when it gets cold - again.)
