why can't i download my google play movies anymore?

[Android Central Question]

So, I've been having issues off and on with google play movies and downloading movies I'd had on here previously. For a time everything worked fine, slow but fine. Then this started. I decided I'd try another rom. Then I start getting "can't fetch license -1". cleared cache in play services, movies and all of that.
Now, I'm thinking that I may just revert back to stock, (I'm not rooted, running TWRP latest version, believe I was running slimkat or a cleanrom. Anyways, big question is what's the easiest/best solution? If I go back to stock firmware, now on cm 12, do I need to treat the Tab as if its rooted or can I just download, wipe and flash older firmware? BTW, I've used ODIN, adb etc. before on a few old phones with no problems it's just been a long time. Thanks in advance for any help!

On phones when troubleshooting them all bets are off when modifying system OS or flash different Rom.. now with that said flash back to stock firmware through Odin and should be fine .
