I'd go along with belodion - either screen failure, motherboard failure (screen driver chip) ... or a loose screen connector (which would probably cost almost as much to have pushed back in as a new phone, unless you find an honest repair person - the phone has to be opened to d it, and I'm guessing [I'm in the US, so I don't know the prices there] that if you're in Nigeria, it's going to cost you 25,000 Naira or therabout in most repair shops).

Against the face or away from it? If away from the face, if there is no other screen activity, the screen goes dark (times out) to preserve battery, lighting back up to show when the call has ended. If against the face, there's a proximity sensor that turns it off to prevent accidental input.

Welcome to Android Central! This is often caused by something blocking the proximity sensor, like a poorly fitting screen protector or case. Do you have either?
