Just give it a go! The best thing about it is you can always go back to stock. There are plenty of easy read directions for even the most non tech people like myself. This was my first time rooting. I had both mine and my girls nooks rooted and going the day i bought them in December. It took more time to download the files and programs for rooting then it did to root it. If and when you do it and you KNOW you wanna do it, make sure you read EVERYTHING on the rooting page and follow the steps correctly. If you mess it up reset to stock and start over. Also make sure you do the step to keep it from auto updating or like mine it will auto update back to 1.0. Thank you to everyone that was there for and helped me.
