Dell Streak battery does not charge.

Dell Streak 5 battery does not charge.

My Dell Streak 5 has been stored in a drawer since it was purchased years ago. Every 6 months or so, I would recharge the battery to 100%. One month ago the original OEM Dell battery would not charge with its original OEM Dell wall charger. I tested it with another original OEM Dell wall charger and with a brand new OEM Dell battery, and it would not charge.

I checked the charging port with a magnifying glass and found no broken, bent, or misaligned pins. I found the same to be true for the pins at each end of the charger cord.

Any suggestions on further troubleshooting or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! It may be that the battery finally failed.

For what it's worth, in the future, if you're going to store a device unused for a while, charge up to 50% only--that's supposed to maintain the battery life for longer than charging up to 100%.
