Quick question about rooting

I'm about to install GummyCharge. Now I know you can download a stock rom and re-install it if you had to, but I'm wondering if there's a way to backup your own phone and restore that? I'd like to have my original image straight from my phone if I could, if not I suppose it's no big deal.

You can do that through ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM). I believe version 4.0.1.4 does nandroid backups and restores. Only problem with that is a nandroid backup does not restore kernel and radios. So you will have to reflash original radios and kernel after doing your nandroid restore.
