Not recognizing SD card.

I installed a 16gb SD card about a month ago in my phone, and set it as internal storage. About a week ago the phone kept showing SD card removed. I'd pop it out, reinsert it. It'd last for a little bit and then the phone wouldnt see it anymore. Now no matter what the phone isn't recognizing my SD card. I can't even get my SD card reader to recognize the card to back up any pictures etc. This is the 2nd time its happened to me since September. (Previously with a 64gb sd card) Last time VZW sent me a new phone. This is also a different SD card then when it happened last time. Any suggestions?

Turn device off, gently clean the gold contacts on the card, put it back in and try again.
Clean with alcohol based wipe, metho or similar. NOT water based,!

This is in the wrong forum. The Droid Maxx does not have an sd card slot. Do you have a Maxx 2?

As for using an sd card as internal storage, I am not a fan. I suggest setting up the card as portable storage. Most likely the sd card you are using is not fast enough to be used for adopted storage.
