Probably stupid question about sideloading update

Yeah I had force close issues too but it went away after a reboot. I haven't had any problems.

If you have the problem of wifi dropping while you are connected see my other post on how to fix it

When you say reboot, do you mean power + volume down?

Well that's the easy way of rebooting. Or you can just hot power off from the power menu then turn it back on after its done shutting off. That takes longer though.

Doesn't really matter how you reboot

I don't have a rooted phone, but I did the update to jelly bean via the DROID life forum, which is probably similar downloaded a file moved it to sd and put it in recovery. I was wondering if there is the option to go back to ICS

Nope. Pretty sure there was something saying that you can't go back.

I read that about the rooted phones but not this one. So when the ota comes out will it notif us to iupdate just in case there is changes?

Once you flash the leak you can't go back, doesnt matter if you are rooted or not.

And it's impossible to say, no one knows if flashing this takes you off the ota path or not. More than likely you are going to have to manually flash the new update when it comes, if it's even any different.

I don't have speed dial has anyone else had this problem? Can I also implement jelly bean without being rooted the way described above. Tons ofquestions jjust looking for any answers thank you. Obviously a newbie

I'm just wondering I used the file from the DROID life website. Every other website or forum that I've read has been a different way to set it up, and I think they've all been for rooted phones even the one above. So I was wondering if I could re do the update from this forum if I'm not rooted

If you already updated to jellybean then what does it matter?

The instructions will be the same except for the part that tells you to backup root and restore it after you install jellybean. You don't have to be rooted to update, but once you update if you're not rooted you won't be able to root until someone finds a way to root it, which probably won't happen until the ota
