I'm trying to find something out there that will allow a 1x1 widget to be placed on an Android Homescreen that will launch a full-size image/picture of my choosing.

Ideally it would scale the image to fit the current screen resolution.

My search for an app only yielded image frames where the image would permanently be displayed on the homescreen as a widget.

Welcome to Android Central! Total Commander gives you the ability to add a homescreen shortcut to any file, including photos. I just tried it, and it works fine. Total Commander is one of my go-to apps -- it's comprehensive, trustworthy, free, and ad-free.

The OP PM'd me this: "Ok... I don't know how to post a thanks on the thread so you're getting this PM.

Thank you for the tip about Total Commander! I have had that on my phone for years and I never knew it could do shortcuts.

That is exactly what I was looking for."

    I'm glad the suggestion helped!

I'm assuming you mean like this? If you have a Samsung, you can do it easily from the My Files app already aboard. Lemme know if you need steps. I just did it to test the question.
