Last back up July 4th 2020, how can I get it to load only newer texts?

[Android Central Question]

Sms back up stopped working. and the last back up was july 4th. I reset the app now it works but it is downloading 44k texts. How can I select for it to just pick up where it left off?

This sms app can you try to hit restore again?

What SMS app are you using?

Is the back-up part of that app or its own app? If it is a separate app, what app is that?

Have you looked through the settings of the app to see if there is a manual restore function? With MyBackUp Pro if I remember correctly I could choose which messages to backup/archive and which to restore or I could select "all" and get everything either way. Just as an example.
