problem with bluetooth connection

I have a Blue Compact II - a bluetooth hands free device in my car. I cannot have my HTC connect automaticaly to the device. I get a "paired but not connected" message and I have to go thru the procedure of connecting every time I start the car although sometimes it does connect automaticaly. The problem sterted after I upgraded my androide to version 2.05
What doi need to do to fix the problem?
