Notification dots don't appear

I have a brand new Moto G Power 2026 cell phone running Android 16. Even though I have enabled notification dots for all apps, they just won't appear. Any suggestions on how to get them to display on the app icons?

Are you using the stock launcher? If not, that is up to the specific launcher's Settings. If using the stock one, make sure that notifications are active for your apps and that you haven't cleared them from the notification area before.
