Get More Life Out of a Droid Razr Maxx (XT912)?

I have a Droid Razr Maxx XT912 that has some problems;

• Random rebooting using any app
• Will freeze up at random times
• Keyboard will sometimes not work
• Apps will force quit
• Phone can be incredibly slow to load

I'd like to uninstall this crappy VZW pre pacakged apps like NFL mobile, Facecrook, etc. Unsure if that would make much of a difference.

I've done a couple things like clear all the cache, rooted the phone, and uninstalled all unnecessary apps. I'm wondering what else I can do to get more life out of this phone?

Considering that it was designed to run Gingerbread, I can think of only 2 things - keep it on Gingerbread and don't try to run apps that were designed for more powerful phones or invent a time machine (it was a pretty good phone back in 2011).

The phone is about 4 generations old. It's like asking a 100 year old man to have the flexibility of a 6 month old baby. Christmas is over - no more miracles until next year.

What about updating the ROM version? Would a factory reset help?
