Galaxy Grand Prime Doesn't Reognize SD Card

I just bought a Galaxy Grand Prime from Metro PCS and it won't recognize any of the micro SD cards.. I have 3 that all work on my computer, but when I put them in the phone it doesn't show up or even make reference to it. Is there any kind of test I can run to check if the connector is broken? I've only had this thing for two days and it's already causing me problems!

I was reading on another forum that going to Menu->Settings->Reset could fix the problem. Does this delete any personal info, contacts, etc., or is that just on a Factory Reset? I haven't been able to find just a "Reset" option tho.. only the Factory Reset.
Another suggestion was to uninstall and reinstall the memory card drivers which can be done in the device manager. Where is this located? I couldn't find it in settings.

Also, the SD card I'm trying is formatted for MS-DOS 16. Is this the correct way to format a SD card for an Android phone?
