Latest Google Phone app is broken?

I just got an update yesterday and it just keeps force closing. I am, however, able to call people through the Google Contacts app but there's no way for me to dial 911 or any number not on my contact. I rebooted to safe mode and the phone app still doesn't open. I just ended up downloading an older version from apkmirror and it works fine.

Moved from General News to General Help. Which phone do you have? Did you try clearing the Phone app's cache and data before reinstalling the older version?

I have a Pixel. Yes, I have cleared the cache and uninstall/reinstall it multiple times with no luck. It still wouldn't open on safe mode so I just reverted back from apkmirror.

Send some feedback to Google about it. I'll watch for any more mentions of this on the forums.

You can put 911 into your contacts, then use the Direct Call widget to put a 911 icon on your home page. (That's a lot faster than even opening the phone and speed-dialing.)

I'm not sure if I want to add a number to my contacts just to call them once. Let's just say I want to call a restaurant to see if they're open.
