Texts need to be downloaded before viewing

I have a Samsung Galaxy 7 Active. With the latest update, 99% of the time when I receive a text message, it sits there until I click it to download. It's driving me nuts. Some (very few) messages come through normally, though. It can't be just iOS compatibility because it happens with all of my contacts whether iOS or Android. If there is a group convo, it gets so frustrating because I have to download each text. Sometimes I just figure I will get them later. It's irritating. Anyone have a fix for this?

What SMS app are you using?

Check the settings in the SMS app.
Group messages are normally MMS, which is also where pictures and movies get sent. Your settings might have them set to not automatically download, especially if you are not on wifi.

Nope. That didn't work. Everything is set correctly.
