Question How do I force back up texts before I switch phones?

So I made the mistake of getting involved with assurance wireless by signing up for the ACP. i received the dreaded Schok Volt SV55. I tried to set up backup by google, but so far only the contacts back up. while the messages are not backing up. Is there some extra app l need? Google gives us 15 gb and I have 99.99% left so it's not that. Do I need to subscribe router login to more data via google 1 to get that function? Is it a configuration thing because forcing the backup hasn't helped. Finally would Assurance kept this from happening while locked in this first year?

Can you show us a screenshot where it says what gets backed up on your phone? Make sure to block out any identifying info first.

It might be related to the fact that your phone runs Android Go, which is a pared down version of Android for lower-spec phones.

You still have the other device try with a cable to copy things over but you need the new phone to be on the set-up page
