Hi,
I'm looking to replace my much loved but ageing HTC Desire. My first thought was the lovely HTC One, but frankly I can think of better ways to spend ?500. Nokia's Lumia 520 looks great for ?160, but Windows Phone looks too limited for me. What a shame Nokia do not make Android devices. So, what are the best Android options out there for this price? My requirements are:
- Good screen, preferably 4 inches or more. 800x480 resolution is fine.
- Good for web browsing, e-mail, social networks, etc.
- Decent keyboard.
- Recent version of Android.
- Battery allowing at least one day of moderate use.
- Reasonable sound quality via headphones.
- Reasonably fast and responsive.
- Enough storage for a decent number of apps (not games).
- SIM free and unlocked.

I appreciate that you get what you pay for and a ?200 device will not be as good as a ?500 device. I can live with a crappy camera and without high end games.
Candidates so far include the HTC Desire X, which has a great screen and seems to run well, but is now one year old; and the LG L5 ii, but that has just a single core processor and is reported to be slow.
Any advice or other ideas are much appreciated!

My suggestion to you is to start looking on Craigslist, eBay, or Swappa.

I recently bought a Nexus 7 32 GB on Swappa for $100 in mint condition.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will have a look at Craigslist etc (or their Dutch equivalents).
I think I will keep my HTC Desire as a backup, and as I'm quite attached to it. :) Anyway I guess it's not worth anything, except maybe to a museum?

Re: Good Android phones at less than 200?

I like the LG F6:

Under $100, from Metro PCS, no contract.

And I get service, unlimited everything, fo $35/mo.

And it is 4G LTE.
