Updated Google Keyboard, it's laggy af!

So I updated the Google Keyboard on my Nexus 5, and now it's Beyond laggy. Is there Any Way to revert back to the previous version?? This is driving me insane. As I type, it's roughly 3-6 words behind...which is driving me insane....any help would be appreciated. I tried to uninstall updates, and it left me with no Keyboard, just the speak to type thing at the bottom. I'm running 5.1.1 (garbage), and I'd also LOVE to revert back to 5.0. My phone was a beast on 5.0. Then the updates ruined it....thanks guys...

Have you tried a Cache Partition wipe?

i usually do a factory reset after an os upgrade, tends to iron out any issues with performance etc. Google Keyboard is working as a breeze on my Nexus 7 2013 lte 5.1.1

Mine is the same. It lags, then auto correct kicks in over the lagged words and totally misspells them. Good effort google =[
